Charles Oates Distilling is also part of the family, distilling fine apple brandy and apple blanco on site. Have a wander in the museum, see the heritage apples on display, enjoy a cider tasting or a tour of the still, feast on the seriously good food and check out their Saturday morning produce market. The Apple Shed is open all year round, closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day only. Don’t be fooled by its name, this eatery offers a distinctive, locally sourced, fresh, innovative menu specialising in unique burgers, all-day breakfast and lunch options. Everything is made on site, these folks even bake their own bread! Great coffee, friendly service and house baked treats ensure your visit ends on a high note. More recently, the team has added chic dinner options, three nights a week. Set in a deco shopfront, the store has served the community since the late 1940s. Renovated in 2015, the recycled/upcycled fitout pays tribute to the heritage of the local area. A great little shed in the Huon Valley that pumps! Not your usual general store RGS is open for breakfast and lunch, with dinner from 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bookings are recommended and groups are welcome.
