Pristine South Tasmania 2024 | Page 75 TASMANIA - KINGBOROUGH AND THE CHANNEL HAND CRAFTED WINES Opening 10am-5pm Thursday to Sunday 0438 396 769 675 Sandfly Road, Sandfly H21680 Est. 2004 Cathedral Rock Vineyard is situated on Sandfly Road, a link between the Channel and Huon regions. “With stunning views of the kunanyi/Mount Wellington ranges, an 880 metres dolerite rock formation, Cathedral Rock forms the head of Sleeping Beauty, as seen from our angle,” said vineyard owner Andrea Kitto. “It’s this view that inspired our name and logo. “Established in 2004, we grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and a small amount of Riesling. “The first 500 vines were planted for ourselves, and on finding how well they grew, and the fabulous flavours we were getting, we expanded and chose to open a cellar door in 2020.” The cellar door is open 10am to 5pm from Thursday to Sunday. “Our unique terroir, from the hand tended vines to the 250-millionyear-old marine fossils very evident in our soils, gives our wine that bit of something special. “We are sure to have a wine for everyone to enjoy.” Cathedral Rock Sunrise at Kingston Beach.
