They have been retailing Australian-made ugg boots and slippers at Salamanca Market since 2013. Wanting to sell a local Tasmanian product, and unable to find anyone in Tasmania who made sheepskin boots and slippers, they decided to do it themselves. They wanted to make high quality, yet affordable ugg boots, so set up the workshop on their property and, in June 2019, began making their first baby ugg boots. Nicky River Uggs has grown since then, and they now make a full range of ugg boots, slippers and scuffs for men and women, Puggle Ugg Boots for children, and little ones for babies, newborn to three years of age. Nicky River ugg boots are available exclusively at the Nicky River stall, site 205/206 at Salamanca Market every Saturday, 8.30am to 3pm.
