Get on the water with Nancy Nancy , built in 1917, with her distinctive fantail transom and plumb stem, is a fine example of the boats of her era. Once she operated as a ferry around Hobart and as a flying boat tender, now she is home on the Huon, taking excursion tours from the Franklin Wooden Boat precinct. With her history, her sheltered, sun filled cabin, her large open rear deck and her silent electric motor, she is the ideal boat for seeing the many attractions of the district from the water. A typical cruise takes in the old Franklin river port foreshore, the unique, estuarine Egg Islands, the Egg Island Canal, originally dug in the 1850s and one of the oldest in Australia, spectacular landscape, including the mighty Huon River and the Sleeping Beauty range.
