Formerly known as the Picnic Hotel until 1937, the Grand has been serving both locals and travellers since 1872. Offering traditional pub meals, with gluten-free and vegetarian options, their menu is available as takeaway, too. Three dining areas are available, including the Riverview Dining Room, overlooking the Huon River, Lito’s Lounge and the traditional bar. The bar had a facelift with a new macrocarpa pine bar incorporated with the old 1937 bar, plus a coat of paint brightening the hotel’s interior. Traditional, old-style, hotel accommodation is available, as is TAB, Keno and gaming machines. A large car park at the rear of the hotel has space to park campervans, and wheelchair access is available. The Grand is open seven days a week from 11am; lunch available every day from noon to 2pm and dinner on Monday from 5pm to 7.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 8pm.
