Dover is situated on the shores of Port Esperance in the Far South of Tasmania and is the southernmost commercial town in Australia; also, home to the southernmost golf club. The club was formed over 100 years ago to cater for the sporting needs of the local community, as well as visitors, and continues to fulfil that role today. With nine holes of small, well-grassed and maintained greens, multiple tees and tree-lined fairways, the course is a challenge. Beautiful views of hills, orchards and snow-capped mountains await. Competition day is on Sundays at 10.30am, as well as a 9-hole Chicken Run at 2pm on Fridays. Clubs and equipment are available seven days a week. For those looking for a good, hearty meal, the club has its own bar and bistro in the heated clubhouse for lunch and dinner, and also offers souvenirs to take home.
